Birch provided construction services for Fulgent Genetics, a premier, full-service genomic testing company.

The primary operational challenge was the aggressive schedule driven by an existing lease expiration at Fulgent’s local facility and the need to accomodate key staff, current lab operations and expanded operations consolidated from other national locations. This also impacted key design and construction milestones, including the retrofit and installation of 5 DOAS RTU’s on the roof along with the installation of new screen wall and mechanical chases units to support air delivery to biosafety level 1 lab.

Birch worked closely with our partners at Cushman & Wakefield, LPA Design Studios and trade partners across North Texas to coordinate early release of MEP equipment, steel supports and lab casework that was critical to delivering the space on time. Meeting this schedule allowed for the testing and calibration of lab equipment during a phased move-in and uninterrupted operations for the AP lab throughout the duration.
