A new home for the EssilorLuxottica’s North Creek Lab, completed in December 2021, is where cutting-edge technology and innovation meet to shape the future of vision care and eyewear design. Originally intended to serve as a showroom for their full line of wearables, this client changed operational strategies and then 
selected Birch to lead the renovations of their North Creek campus, updating more than 40,000 square feet of lab space and 31,800 square feet of office space.

The primary challenge for this project was making the necessary updates to the space ahead of the delivery of new equipment. To achieve the client’s deadline for move-in, we utilized a pull planning approach that clearly defined the sequence of equipment deliveries and balanced this with labor and material availability, site access and permits. Achieving these milestones resulted in on-time delivery of this laboratory and a number of additional projects with this partner.
